St. Francis Institute of Management & Research was created by the Society of the Congregation of Franciscan Brothers in 2002 to provide quality education in business management. The institute is recognized by UGC and AICTE New Delhi. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have given SFIMAR an "A" rating (NAAC).

St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (SFIMAR) is committed to students' entire development and offers a variety of personality development programs. St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (SFIMAR) also offers additional certification programs to its students, such as Alternative Investment Industry, Project Management, National Institute for Securities Markets (NISM) Mandatory Programs, CIMA, Digital Marketing, and others, enhancing their knowledge and job possibilities.

St. Francis Institute of Management & Research Eligibility Criteria 2024

  • Out of 180 seats, 51 percent (92 seats) are reserved for Christian Religious Minority candidates, while the remaining 49 percent (88 seats) are allocated to candidates from all categories.
  • Other than Christian Minority Candidates and Open Category conditions are allotted to the remaining seats during the CAP round if there are insufficient minority candidates to allot.
  • Institutions admit other category candidates to fill vacancies in minority seats.
  • If any seats become available following the CAP rounds, the Institute can admit all category candidates who have registered with DTE.

For CAP Minority & CAP Quota

  • DTE CAP notification on the Maharashtra DTE/ARA/CET cell website.
  • Fill out an online CET registration form at the DTE/ARA/CET cell Maharashtra website and pay an application cost of Rs 1000 or Rs 800, depending on the circumstance.
  • Attend a CET conducted by Maharashtra's DTE/CET cell.
  • Scrutiny/E-scrutiny of CAP documents begins at the authorized facilitation center (FC).
  • Scrutiny will verify and confirm the application and documents via offline mode/e-scrutiny centre via the internet mode.
  • Provisional admission merit list is available on the Maharashtra DTE/ARA/CET cell website.

For Institutional Seats

  • All applications are evaluated, and the Institute creates a general merit list based on the results of entrance exams such as MAH-MBA/MMS-CET/CAT/CMAT.
  • A candidate merit list is developed and posted on the Institute's notice board and website.
  • Students are summoned for counseling according to the schedule shown on the bulletin board. Students go through a counseling session.
  • The first-round counseled students are expected to submit documentation and pay fees by the deadline specified in the schedule.

  • Once institute received their form they will get a call on given numbers on form for fixation of their telephonic interview. On the fix time the telephonic interview will be arranged.

The curriculum is not relevant to making students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult in some subjects but can be covered if ample time is provided to students. Too many assignments will be given.

E-Learning Facilities and Technologies at SFIMAR

Effective current ICT resources such as LCDs and Digital White Boards are employed as teaching aids for delivering lectures and conveying knowledge to facilitate the teaching-learning technique. Students are also encouraged to use these devices when completing tasks and presenting their work. Faculty and students have access to ICT devices such as computers, the internet, television, and educational CDs. For a better delivery of their course/elective, faculty members use PowerPoint, virtual films, various online databases and analytics tools, web-enabled projects and assignments, online case-study, simulation exercises, and role-play.

Computer Centre

To supplement classroom pedagogy, SFIMAR has state-of-the-art computing facilities. The internet is available in all hostel rooms, classrooms, departments, and offices, and multimedia is frequently used to supplement lectures. The Computer Centre at SFIMAR houses the most up-to-date machines, licensed software applications, language labs, an IT lab, and high-speed Internet access.

The computer center's teachers and staff participate in expanding computer literacy by giving lectures and establishing Continuing Education Programs. SFIMAR's Computer Centre is involved in various consulting and extension initiatives.

Classrooms

The classrooms of SFIMAR are air-conditioned, roomy, and well-equipped for teaching and learning with a projector, whiteboard, audiovisual sound system, and podium. MMS and PGDM courses are taught in separate classrooms. The classrooms are well-ventilated, with plenty of group activities and personality development areas.

Library

The SFIMAR Library and Information Resource Center (LIRC) has invested in cutting-edge technology to anticipate academic and student demands. Its mission is to assist the Institute's teaching, learning, and research activities by offering cutting-edge, world-class information services. SFIMAR LIRC has joined the Developing Library Network (DELNET), National Digital Library (NDL), and INFLIBNET N-LIST Consortia, giving it access to more than 6000 peer-reviewed e-journals and more than 31,35,000 E-Books from reputable publishers and organizations.

The LIRC provides a welcoming environment for its customers since it is equipped with all current amenities. A fully integrated library software system with a bar-coding system has automated many procedures and made book and other library material circulation more efficient. The bibliographic details of library documents can be viewed using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) from any of the work stations (computer terminals and Interactive Kiosk) on/off-campus through Wi-Fi using the URL.

In the reading area, an interactive digital kiosk displays information on fascinating facts about libraries, LIRC tutorials, G.K., and SFIMAR events, among other things. The goal is to establish a motivating learning environment in which students can develop managerial and entrepreneurial abilities. 

Auditorium & Seminar Hall

Their 600-seat acoustically designed air-conditioned theatre is excellent for hosting various cultural activities and functions. SFIMAR's uniquely equipped seminar hall and conference rooms host a variety of MDPs and training programs.

Laboratory for Research

Research lab 109 is located on the first floor and has 42 computers with PSPP software and R programming installed so that students and professors can do research in their various professions.

Recreational Resources

A variety of indoor and outdoor games facilities are provided on campus, providing our students with a burst of energy. A spate of annual events for sports and cultural activities are held on our considerably spread playground, encouraging the spirit of sportsmanship. 

Common Rooms (Boys and Girls)

For the students, the institute has created gender-specific common rooms. These rooms are also utilized for socializing, debating, mingling with one another, and relaxing and rejuvenating after a long day of lectures.

Excellence Centers

The Centre of Excellence serves as a forum for sharing business knowledge and understanding between the academic and corporate sectors. This continuous dialogue serves as a theoretical, empirical, and practical foundation for thoroughly examining emerging markets.

Hostel

For out-of-town students, the well-furnished dormitory building is provided with all modern amenities. With high-speed wireless LAN connections available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it allows them to feel at ease and concentrate on their studies (Wi-Fi facility). All students are supplied with lockers to store their valuables and luggage.

Cafeteria on-site

Inside the campus, a cafeteria serving a wide variety of items and keeping a high degree of hygiene is operating to provide quality-catering services for students and staff at reasonable prices. Indian and Chinese cuisines are served at our cafeteria, and it also provides Mess facilities to hostel students. For hostel students, the cafeteria is open until 10 pm.

Fitness Centre

There is a well-equipped exercise centre on campus with the most up-to-date equipment. Students are given enough opportunities to improve their physical fitness and begin a healthy lifestyle.

Wi-Fi Campus

SFIMAR's Wi-Fi Campus is a mix of history and technology. The lush green open areas and tranquil environs provide a perfect learning environment. The campus has Wi-Fi-connected, enabling students access to the internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Within the campus, students can also access the Institute's intranet, which assists them in completing assignments, research projects, and presentations on time.

Eligibility Criteria for St. Francis Institute of Management & Research Scholarship

St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (SFIMAR) provide a variety of scholarships based on the following criteria:

  1. The Indian government freeships / scholarships by the department of social justice and special assistance for reserved categories of SC/VJNT/OBC/SBC - students enrolled through the centralized admission process and benefiting as per the requirements of the Indian Constitution. Scholarships are available for SC/SBC/VJNT students with an income of fewer than Rs 2.00 lakhs, while freeships are available for those with an income of more than 2.00 lakhs. OBCs are eligible for a 50% tuition fee reimbursement if their family's annual income is less than Rs 8.00 lakhs.
  2. Rajarshee Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj tuition fee reimbursement scheme (EBC) - Candidates admitted through CAP rounds and with an annual family income limit of less than Rs 8.00 lakhs are eligible to receive a 50% tuition fee reimbursement from the Maharashtra Government.
  3. The State Government of Maharashtra offers scholarships to students from the minority group pursuing higher and professional education and having an annual family income of less than Rs. 8.00 lakhs.
  4. Hosteller students are eligible for the Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Maintenance allowance scheme.
